Costume was pretty awesome in it's own right, too!jewlzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13388035539612539051noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4537355151674491939.post-81457845619119593322015-11-07T13:54:37.150-05:002015-11-07T13:54:37.150-05:00Thank you. Love your lighting. ..that's you right? I was however thinking y you had plaster. Ours is old plaster, so it's dry. I think maybe it's Petch House, but they haven't updated for quite some time. Thank you for your thoughts though! Upholste...Hi Desri, thanks for your lovely comment. Upholstery is fairly challenging, but the tools needed are fairly simple. There's a lot of technique involved, and a lot to learn. I would suggest that if you're interested, you take some courses from a reputable upholsterer (there are a fair amount of poor ones).

As for lime plaster, I think you must have my blog confused with another one. All my walls are drywall (original to 1923) and I haven't ever used lime plaster. I would assume that once the plaster is dry, it's very similar to drywall, and the choice of primer shouldn't make too much of an issue. I tend to use really cheap primer just as a base coat for bare drywall and to even out the gloss on my final wall paint. I imagine that any decent brand of primer should work well on plaster. The only thing I would worry about is if there is any dampness left in the plaster. Modern paints (acrylic) are basically plastic (think acrylic nails, acrylic tub, etc). If you paint it over a damp surface, it will eventually just peel off. I've heard that plaster can take over a month or more to fully dry, so be careful.JChttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09831757279235998895noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4537355151674491939.post-86703497045818136532015-11-07T10:30:45.732-05:002015-11-07T10:30:45.732-05:00Love the chair. Upholstery and stained glass are my plans for retirement hobbies.

I have a question unrelated to this post though. I'd tried looking through past posts and missed it. You used a water based primer on top of cleaned lime plaster correct? What brand did you use? Desrihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13166481125543857364noreply@blogger.com
