So I'm currently so sad and pissed that I don't know if I should scream or ball my eyes out. It's only Feb 5th, and apparently my bandwith is already nearly maxed out. This means that NONE of my photos will show until the 25th (once I reach my cap).
I thought I had fixed this issue with smaller photos, but apparently not. I either have some sort of issue with my account, or my blog has gotten too popular!
:(
This sucks!
I could increase my bandwidth, but that means I'd have to PAY. Screw that!
I can't understand how I've already reached nearly 10 GB in just 10 days. I've always had 100s of photos linked all over the place on fairly busy sites, and I haven't had a problem (except maybe once or twice).
According to my stats, the most viewed photos are the Master Bedroom Closet pic, at something like 684 views (!!!) and my Old House Web avatar photo (small photo of my house) at 1112 views. I just went and decreased the size and quality of that photo to help.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Hm...that sounds really strange! Unfortunatly, I have no suggestions - I used to use Photobucket and switched to Flickr (I can't remember why?!) but you only have a limited amount of space on Flickr before you have to pay (which I do).
ReplyDeleteSorry that it's being a pain!
I thought about starting a Flickr after I was running out of space on my first Photobucket (I have 2 now) but I just really hate the way they have it set up where, if you want to see a photo full size, you have to click on it about 5 times before you get there. So freakin' annoying.
DeleteI might just cave and pay the 25$/year for the Pro account. We'll see.
my best suggestion is a new photobucket account. I have like... four. SHHHH don't tell anyone!
ReplyDeleteWell I already have 2 of them, since I was running out of space in my previous one. I'm actually thinking that MAYBE it might be easier to just pay for the damned account and then use/abuse it as much as humanly possible to get my money's worth. It's 25$/year, which is 2$/month. I just really hate to pay for stuff for the internet. I've never had to pay for anything on the web other than purchases.
DeleteIt's just that the thought of having all my damned photos blanked out for 20 DAYS is really REALLY **R-E-A-L-L-Y** gonna piss me off.
Why can't they just 'up-it' to 20 GB/month? Then I'd be fine! *grumble*
:(
Another option is to upload the photos to FB and then hijack the URLs and post them here... I've been known to hijack FB's URLs before. :)
ReplyDeleteSure they won't be BIG pics... but free bandwidth!
May be a stupid question but why use Photobucket at all? Is there some advantage over just uploading the photos into your post which I assume is using Blogger to host photos? I've never had a problem in the two plus years I've been blogging.
ReplyDeleteI actually haven't tried this. I'm not even sure how (though I'm sure it can't be too complicated). There was another comment that mentioned Picasa which is now linked-in with Google and Blogger, but it doesn't give any information about file sizes, album sizes, or bandwith.
DeleteI can try to do a photo post sometime tomorrow and see. Thanks for the suggestion.
I upload all my photos directly into folders on my desktop and grab them from there to add to my post. There's no problem with storing my photos and I don't run the risk of running out of space or paying anyone to host them. If I want to add them to flikr, pinterest or as a link somewhere else, I just upload them to that specific place. Hope that makes sense...I'm all about the easier the better!
